Strategic Manager, Business Transformation

Primary Purpose

Primary responsibilities of the Strategic Manager, Business Transformation include managing projects, the resources (internal and external) assigned to that work, the timelines established in which that work needs to be completed, and the costs (if applicable). You will be working with business leaders and functional teams to support execution of our business transformation strategy that will better position the company for continued growth and increased productivity. It will be important to provide hands-on expertise and resources to support team members adopt new systems, processes, tools, and to understand new ways to improve their experience.

The longer-term objective of this role will be to help guide the organization's strategic direction using best practices in development and future growth. Along the way, the role includes responsibility for engaging operations and the leadership team on customer needs and company goals while pushing technology to the foreground as a solution and building a business case for modernization.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Business Transformation, this role is responsible for:

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Manage strategic projects and collaborate with business leaders and cross functional teams that impact and drive success
  • In collaboration with business stakeholders, define project scope, manage goals to measure and deliver on scheduled timeline, within budget expectations, and effectively support business stakeholder expectations
  • Oversee strategic planning of program development, data management of project details, and leverage data analytics and business reporting tools to drive effective results
  • Identify obstacles and roadblocks, and proactively make recommendations to develop approaches to overcome them
  • Execute on various communication methods and strategies to appropriate stakeholders
  • Communicate to senior management and business stakeholders regarding project status, risks, issues, and recommended solutions
  • Develop trusted relationships with internal business leaders, stakeholders, functional team members, as well as external partners, vendors, or clients
  • Partner with marketing and communications team to develop strong communication plans and resources that effective messaging and information is timely in supporting the management of change
  • Support the development and implementation of effective change management strategies and plans, both on an individual and organizational level, to drive successful adoption to business processes, systems and technology, and implement key initiatives across the organization
  • Conduct change impact analysis, and determine organizational readiness for the execution of change operations
  • Assures projects relating to change initiatives meet business objectives on time and on budget by increasing employee adoption and utilization
  • Support the people and culture side of change, including organization structure, expansion of new/existing functional departments, and job roles and responsibilities

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Bachelor's Degree in Business or relevant discipline is preferred, or equivalent experience required

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years' experience
  • Minimum 2 years direct work experience in project management, business analytics, process development and execution required
  • Project Management certification beneficial
  • Change Management certification beneficial
  • Design Thinking, Agile and/or Lean Six Sigma certification beneficial

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Able to manage one's own time and priorities to ensure the meeting of deadlines with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience providing effective project management with key attention to details
  • Excellent conceptualization, presentation, and communication skills to effectively execute change
  • Able to bring transformational leadership to a team
  • Relationship-oriented mindset across stakeholders groups
  • Proven ability to balance resources, priorities, budget and timelines
  • Expertise in business process mapping and data analysis
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
